中医养生是研究和指导人们健康、长寿的实用学科，它的基本任务包括四个方面：

一是继承，要以科学的观点和方法全面地、系统地发掘、整理、总结、提髙传统养生理论和方法；

二是研究，要结合现代科学的手段，对传统的行之有效的养生方法进行分折研究，探讨其实质；

四是推广，应大力开展健康宣教，不断推广中医养生的先进理念、实用方法和技术，指导个体养生和群体保健。
